An early morning campaign session saw commuters at West Croydon show their support for Labour and the campaign to rezone East and West Croydon stations into Zone 4.

Steve Reed, Labour’s candidate for Croydon North, spoke to commuters on 8 April about the upcoming election as well as the Zone 4 campaign he has led with Sarah Jones, Labour’s candidate in Croydon Central.

The campaign aims to rezone Croydon’s stations which could save commuters over £330 a year. You can sign the petition to rezone the stations here.

There was also a positive response from commuters about Steve’s election pledges for Croydon North, including jobs and regeneration for the whole of Croydon.

Steve said: “Commuters in Croydon get a poor deal from the current zone arrangements, so it is really positive that the campaign has won massive local support for a move which could save commuters over £330 each year.

“Rising travel costs are making life difficult for many commuters, but the Tory government and mayor have done nothing to help. Only a Labour government will bring the cost of living down and stand up for Croydon’s commuters.”
